Why use Hypnotherapy?

Everything you have learned and experienced is stored in your Subconscious Mind, and what has been stored has formed programming - this programming dictates how you think, feel, act and behave.

Your Conscious Mind is the mind that you think with - however, your Subconscious Mind does not think but simply records all of the things that you experience (through the senses) and holds programming.

You might have found yourself wondering why is it that when you want to think, feel, act and behave a certain way you find yourself doing the opposite. This is not because there is something wrong with you - this happens simply because the programming in your Subconscious Mind is far more powerful than your conscious will. Sometimes you can perform and act the way you want to just by using your conscious will - but this does take great effort and, after awhile, you find yourself reverting back to behaviours that are programmed in your Subconscious Mind.

This happens because the programming of your Subconscious Mind is so strong, that it overrides the intention of your Conscious Mind - which is your thinking mind. So you may decide with your Conscious Mind that you are going to do something, however if your Subconscious Mind is not programmed the same way, a conflict arises between your two minds - and the programming of your Subconscious Mind ultimately wins the battle.

Through counselling processes and conversations with you, we are able to find out what sort of programming you have, and how this is contributing to your lack of success in certain areas. Also, we assist you to discover what your goals are, for how you want to think, act, feel and behave.

We can help you to understand how you have come to have the problems that you have, and how your behaviour has been shaped and formed. We give you an understanding of how your Two Minds work, and then teach you how to use the power of your Subconscious Mind to change your programming to bring about the behaviour you actually want.

We teach you how to re-programme your Subconscious Mind to match what it is that you have decided to achieve - you then have the Two Minds working together, and this is very powerful and puts you in control of your life!

The quickest and most effective way to alter the programming of your Subconscious Mind is to access it directly, and this occurs through the use of Hypnosis.

About Hypnosis

Hypnosis is a state of mind where the body is very relaxed but the mind is very alert.

The person in hypnosis looks as though they are asleep, as they are when in bed at night. When a person is asleep at night, they are unconscious or it could be said that they are unaware. Certainly unaware that they are asleep, unaware of what is going on around them. Their conscious mind is asleep. While they are asleep they are not thinking things such as "it is good to be asleep".

When a person is in hypnosis or in the hypnotic state, they are very conscious. They hear very clearly and are aware of where they are and who is there with them, and what is being said to them.

They are very conscious, they can think and reason, and they have full control of themselves. Their body is asleep but their mind is very much awake.

When in the state of hypnosis, suggestions made go directly to the Subconscious Mind and form programming very quickly, much more quickly than when in the normal waking state, as when in the normal waking state the Conscious Mind's critical analysing factors interfere with the suggestions for change.

When in the hypnotic state, this analysing critical factor is moved to one side, out of the way, and suggestions for change go directly to the Subconscious Mind, and form programming very quickly. Of course these suggestions for change have already been agreed upon beforehand.

The suggestions that are given whilst in hypnosis must be relevant, appropriate, and what the person actually wants and needs in order for the suggestions to work and in order for them to reach the Subconscious Mind.

One of the myths about hypnosis is that the person giving hypnosis is in control of the subject. This is completely incorrect and has come about by stage hypnotists giving the impression that they are in control of their subjects/participants - when really the participant in a stage hypnotist show hears very clearly what is being suggested to them and decides whether they wish to comply with the suggestions or not.

The main point to know is that the State of Hypnosis is a very aware, enjoyable, safe, and relaxing state and in this state the Subconscious Mind can be directed to take on-board the suggestions that the Conscious Mind desires.

Can I expect changes to last?

All clients are taught Self-Hypnosis as part of their Hypnotherapy Programme. Self-Hypnosis is an important part of every Treatment Programme - not just to provide more rapid and effective behaviour change, but also most importantly, so that our clients can continue to maintain what they have achieved and continue to build on this.

How long does a session take?

Each Zoom session takes 40 minutes. There is tools and techniques to practice between sessions but we fully guide you on all aspects of how to do this.

What is the usual cost?

Cost varies depending on the Treatment Programme that you choose. Refer to individual treatment pages for further details.

Is help available between sessions?

Yes - you are provided with contact details so that we are available to answer any questions you might have in between scheduled sessions.

What if I don't know what Treatment Programme to choose?

You can Contact Us and we can advise you on which Treatment Programme is most appropriate for your specific needs.

Do I get hypnotised online?

No - in the Zoom sessions we guide you through the use of the hypnosis recordings that we email you the links for.
